I am running as the Democrat for Lee County Commissioner District 2 seat in the November 2010 election. I am a long time resident of over 35 years to Lee County.
Lee County has been home to my family for 3 generations.
I love Lee County and have actively worked each year to educate business owners and residents on the issues we face in the SWFL Hospitality Industry on Local, State and National levels. The hospitality industry is one of the largest industries in the state which employee's over 100,000 people in Restaurant's and Hotel's / Resorts. Please visit the FRLA frla.org website. As the President of the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association of Lee/Charlotte County for over 10 years the chapter remains very involved in the community outreach programs: One major event that I have chaired for over 10 years is the
River & Blues Festival which takes place in Centennial Park each year. This will be18th year of giving back to the community, to places such as The Harry Chapin Food Bank and the Soup Kitchen and student scholarships.
It was time for a change, when asked to step up and run for this seat I thought long and hard about what I would bring to the table. I realized one of the biggest thing that I can offer is an Ear and Voice for the community. I will also seek accountability and transparency on all the spending and contracts in Lee County. Our abundance of natural resource's and beauty must be protected for the future of Lee County.
